Now that Paige has been forced to retire from in-ring competition, she has one lofty goal in mind. Becoming a WWE Hall Of Famer.
While almost every WWE Superstar's life and career is something of a rollercoaster ride, not many can hold a candle to Paige. Paige has wrestled for almost 13 years, been Diva's Champion, the first ever NXT Women's Champion, is a former SmackDown Live General Manager, plus a blockbuster movie has been made about her life. Not bad for someone who only turned 26 last year.
Turns out packing all of that in to such a short space of time was a huge blessing for Paige. That's because, in 2018, the former Divas' Champion was informed that due to a build-up of injuries, her wrestling career was over. It was heartbreaking news, especially after the turbulent 18 months Paige overcame in order to get back to wrestling. We are at least thankful we got to see her perform a few more times before she had to hang up her boots.
So what's next for Paige? The day after she officially announced her retirement, she became SmackDown Live General Manager. Then, later that same year, she was relieved of those duties so she could focus on promoting her movie, Fighting With My Family. With the imminent release of that movie, soon Paige might well be at another loose end.
The Brit does have one lofty goal in mind for the future though, as she revealed to The Mirror. "Put me in the Hall of Fame. That’s something in your wrestling career you definitely need to tick off," Paige exclaimed. That is a big call, and probably one that she isn't really expecting, at least not right now. We definitely agree that she deserves to be in there, but perhaps not quite yet.
What Paige has planned next is really anyone's guess. Personally, we sincerely hope that she remains with WWE in some capacity. Her knowledge and experience is invaluable to those around her, especially considering the women's revolution still raging on in WWE. Paige laid so much groundwork for that revolution, and she deserves to reap the rewards in whatever way she can.
