The Philadelphia Eagles continue to reshape their Super Bowl championship roster, as wide receiver Torrey Smith has been traded to the Carolina Panthers for cornerback Daryl Worley.

ESPN'S Adam Schefter broke the news:

Smith has two years left on his contract at $5 million a season, according to Spotrac.com. Last year, he signed a three-year pact worth $15 million with the Eagles. He'll join a Carolina Panthers receiving core that includes Devin Funchess and Pro Bowl tight end, Greg Olsen.

Earlier in the week, the Eagles traded for Seattle Seahawks star pass-rusher Michael Bennett, and it's expected they'll cut ties with Vinny Curry to save more cap space.

Though Smith was a key part of the Philly' Super Bowl journey, the team is set at the receiver position with Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor and tight end Zach Erts. With running back Corey Clement being used heavily as a pass-catcher throughout the postseason, Philadelphia is loaded with receiving threats.

Smith should fit nicely in Carolina's offense, giving 2015 MVP Cam Newton a serious deep threat who can stretch the field. Newton has one of the best arms in football, and the 29-year-old Smith is among the NFL's fastes players.

Last season, Smith caught 36 passes for 430 yards and two touchdowns. But he came up big in the postseason, finishing with 21 receptions for 157 yards and a score. He also won Super Bowl 47 with the Baltimore Ravens - hence why Smith has a reputation for coming through in crunch time.

Worley - who was drafted 77th overall in 2016 - has struggled in pass coverage through his first two NFL seasons. But in 2016, Pro Football Focus ranked him as the 12th best corner against the rush.

Philly already bosts a solid secondary, led by Jalen Mills and Malcolm Jenkins. With Patrick Robinson likely headed to free agency, Worley should make up for his possible departure.
