Pat Patterson is a legendary name in the wrestling industry, most notably being credited as the creator of the Royal Rumble match as well as being the inaugural WWF Intercontinental Champion. But most recently, he has been described as “Vince McMahon’s right hand man”, so he has a lot of knowledge and opinion, and he divulged plenty of that during an interview with Sports Illustrated. During this interview, he talked plenty about his love for Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart, and spoke at length about their legendary WrestleMania Iron Man match, and how he was “going crazy backstage during the match.” Patterson also offered an idea for what he believes would be a perfect modern day equivalent of that iconic bout.

Patterson called both Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens ‘bona fide stars’, and posed the idea of those two battling in an Iron Man match, but with Dolph Ziggler’s current standing in WWE, it’s unlikely that he’ll be partaking in many important matches over the rest of his career. However, as you can see here in this tweet, the two have battled plenty, even this year, and with their in ring chemistry, there’s no doubt that it would be a phenomenal contest if it ever were to happen.

Patterson also went on to say that he sees Owens as a huge babyface star in the future, and we can’t argue with him, given how much the fans already love Owens. With his cocky and funny personality, it will hopefully happen within the next 1-2 years.

So what do you guys think? Do you agree with the idea of Ziggler vs. Owens from Patterson? Is KO better off as a baby face or a heel? Let us know all your thoughts and ideas in the comments below.
