WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne has reportedly suffered a "severe" injury, but the details of it are unknown at this point in time.

Longer title reigns and the WWE Superstars responsible for them have been getting a lot of recognition lately. The New Day's last spell with the Tag Team Titles prior to this one was the longest in WWE history. On the World Title side of things, Brock Lesnar notched up an impressive 504 days as Universal Champion while AJ Styles' WWE Title reign is at 331 days and counting.

One man who is not included in the above conversation often enough is Pete Dunne. The Bruiserweight is currently WWE's United Kingdom Champion, and this past Wednesday he celebrated 500 straight days with that title. Dunne defeated his good friend Tyler Bate for the championship back in June of 2017 and still has it to this day.

Sadly, some recent news coming out of camp Dunne suggests that his reign may be about to come to an end. The champ was supposed to be making an appearance for Canadian promotion, Destiny Wrestling this weekend. However, according to the company's social media accounts, Dunne will no longer be able to make it due to a "severe injury." Destiny added that WWE will reveal details about the injury over the next few days.

Destiny wrote on its Facebook page "due to a severe injury (WWE will announce it in few days) Pete Dunne will not be able to make it to this weekends tour in Canada." Low-Ki will apparently be taking The Bruiserweight's place, and the other members of British Strong Style, and fellow NXT Superstars, Trent Seven and Bate will still be appearing on the show.

Whatever the injury is, we hope it isn't too serious. However, the use of the word severe by Destiny has led to us not holding out much hope. If it is as bad as the Canadian promotion is letting on, then the UK Champion may have to relinquish his title. That would be a disappointing way to have such a remarkable reign end, but WWE won't want the title to be absent if Dunne is going to be sidelined for an extended period.
