Petr Cech wants to stay at Arsenal and fight for the number one spot rather than move aside and take his career elsewhere.

Aside from the move of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid to Juventus, the goalkeepers are the ones stealing all the headlines during this transfer window. Liverpool splashed the cash to get Alisson to Anfield, now we are all wondering who will be starting for Chelsea when the new season begins in a little more than two weeks.

The Blues have basically been linked with every single goalkeeper that has been rumored to move this summer from Alisson to Donnarumma to Kasper Schmeichel. This week Maurizio Sarri signed Robert Green but he will merely be a backup keeper. The club needs to cement a first-team shot-stopper, especially if Thibaut Courtois pushes through his move to Real Madrid like he's currently expected to do.

One of the stranger keepers Chelsea has been linked with is Petr Cech. The Arsenal keeper was previously Chelsea's number one for eight seasons, and the club's number two for a ninth, and helped them win four Premier League titles. Once he fell out of favor he looked elsewhere and that's when he landed at Arsenal. Now that The Gunners have signed Bernd Leno, Cech may no longer be the first choice keeper there either.

However, according to Sky Sports, Cech is going nowhere. The Czech shot-stopper has made it clear that he wants to remain at the Emirates and fight for his spot despite fierce competition. Not only will he have to battle against Leno for that honor, but Mexican keeper David Ospina is also in with a shot of starting. Cech is of the belief that he can convince Unai Emery that he is the best out of all three of them though.

The 2018/19 season is likely to be a transitional one for both Arsenal and Chelsea. Both teams have new managers and are likely to have different keepers starting between the sticks. What's more, neither side finished in the top four of the Premier League last season. That's simply not good enough for teams of their caliber, hence the amount of change that is going on at the Emirates and Stamford Bridge.
