On the latest edition of Monday Night Raw, we saw a holiday celebration for Memorial Day.  As they always do in WWE, this turned into a mid-card tag team food fight, and after the episode, a Reddit user found the booking sheet for the BBQ segment and posted it to his page. Sure, it wasn’t the most interesting or enjoyable segment (let’s be honest, it was absolutely horrendous), but this sheet (and we still don’t know how this user obtained it) gives us great insight into what the performers have to deal with for a segment, and a writers checklist for in-ring promos.

You can read along for yourself to see just what the writers have to go through before a segment, but it’s basically all pretty clear stuff. Does the promo make sense? Time it properly. Is it entertaining? These are some of the questions and requests that a writer must meet and answer while getting an in-ring promo together, and like the commentary sheet that was leaked last year, it’s a very interesting and unique insight into the WWE creative team.

In terms of the scripting for the promo itself, it went basically to script, but as all of these weird Holiday celebration/food fights go, it was just terrible. It continues to showcase the lowest form of ‘comedy’ in the wrestling business. It was something to do for all of these performers, and they’re on TV, so all around, I guess we can’t complain too much. But in the future, like the promo to begin Raw, we’d love to see WWE maybe mix up the formula once in a while.

So what do you guys think? How do these type of writers/commentators sheets keep getting leaked? What did you think of the segment overall? As always, let us know all your thoughts and ideas in the comments below.
