CM Punk has questioned why Xavier Woods is allowed to work with G4, but Zelina Vega appears to have been fired over her refusal to stop using Twitch.

WWE is never afraid to shy away from controversy, sometimes to its detriment. An example of that is unfolding right now. Vince McMahon recently decided that he no longer wants Superstars using third party sites such as Cameo and Twitch in order to generate more revenue. The belief is that Superstars will return to the sites in the future, but WWE will take a cut of whatever they earn.

Although the reason for her release is yet to be officially confirmed, it's assumed that Zelina Vega took a stand against that. Vega is pretty big on Twitch and continues to be, seemingly choosing to stream rather than wrestle. It's entirely possible that Vega actually makes more money on Twitch than she did in WWE. Many Superstars don't earn as much money as you might think through wrestling alone.

What remains unclear is exactly what the rules are for the time being. That's something CM Punk brought up when he appeared as a guest on Renee Paquette's new podcast, Oral Sessions. Punk questioned why Xavier Woods has been allowed to become a host on G4, but Vega appears to have been fired over her desire to keep streaming on Twitch while remaining with WWE.

"I would always be the guy that would say, wait, why is so and so able to do this because there was always outside interest, not only from me," Punk explained, talking about his time with WWE. Apparently, Punk was touring a pinball machine factory in Chicago one time and was told by someone who worked there that they wanted him on a WWE pinball machine, but the company said no.

Punk also claimed that one unnamed wrestler was told by WWE that they couldn't appear on a TV show, only to discover shortly after that the role had been given to John Cena instead. It seems that some Superstars living by one set of rules while others work to another is nothing new. It may have something to do with the clauses in their individual contracts, but may also depend on how much McMahon likes you on any given day.
