New Los Angeles Lakers acquisition Rajon Rondo reckons his new side will be tough to lock down next season because of their unselfishness, versatility, and collective ability to create.

Expectations are high in L.A again, given the team's capture of superstar LeBron James in free agency this summer. Magic Johnson has also surrounded his prized asset with players who can create, move the ball around, and defend.

Rondo, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee have joined LeBron in Los Angeles, and with a smart point guard in Lonzo Ball already under their employ, the Lakers may not be as far from dethroning the Golden State Warriors as many people think.

“We might have a roster where there’s five ball-handlers on the court at one time,” Rondo explained during media conference call (H/T lakersnation.com).

“Five guys that can play-make and create offense for each other versus just one dominant ball-handler, so it’ll be very versatile and I don’t think you’ll be able to scout and stick to one gameplan as far as trying to stop certain players.”

Apart from Ball and the newest signings, there are also a few other players on the Lakers roster who can make plays and move the ball around unselfishly. Rondo and James are used to being the playmakers on their previous teams, but they won't have as heavy of a creative burden on their shoulders in the coming season — or at least that is the idea.

“I think the unselfishness that a lot of these guys already have in their DNA as far as myself, LeBron, Ball, guys that get off the ball," Rondo added. "We might dominate the ball at certain parts of the game, but for the most part, we always try to find the open man.

“I think guys like LeBron or myself, I haven’t had a lot of guys that make plays for me so it’s gonna be exciting to be able to just get up, get a couple easy looks, be able to push the pace in the open court, and take the time to look for one another.”

The project that Johnson pitched to LeBron was an idea of a team boasting height and athleticism, with players who can create opportunities for one another, switch effectively on defense and score in the lane.

He has succeeded in bringing players who suit those ideals, but, of course, we'll have to wait to see how it all unfolds during the upcoming season.
