As announced on WWE Backstage Saturday night, Randy Orton has drawn the first slot in the Men's Royal Rumble Match, while Edge has drawn the unlucky No. 2 slot. Not only is this big news, but it could be a teaser for how the Rumble match itself might end.

With the Royal Rumble right around the corner, WWE was promoting an announcement as to who would be the first two entrants into the men's Rumble match on Sunday night. Orton and Edge will start things off, picking things up from where their feud left off at WrestleMania and during The World's Greatest Wrestling Match a few months ago. While the battle will only last for a couple of minutes before entrant No. 3 makes his way to the ring, this decision potentially says a lot about how WWE will be booking these two men moving forward. It might also provide a teaser to the Men's Rumble finish itself.

The expectation by many was that Orton and Edge would meet up again at some point for a rubber match. That may still happen, but the decision to have them start the Rumble suggests one of two things based on how their battle is booked.

In one scenario, if they really get into things on Sunday night, they won't likely meet again in a singles match until much further down the road. The longer these two men go, the more it suggests this could be the final encounter between these two for some time. That makes sense considering Edge has a few names on his bucket list that he'd like to wrestle and Orton is tied up in a rivalry with The Fiend.

That said, if WWE really tries to build some animosity between Edge and Orton, it could tease them finalizing things at this year's WrestleMania.

What About the Rumble Finish?

That these two are setting the pace for the Rumble match likely means neither lasts all the way to the end of the match. It's happened before, but it's fairly rare. That means, speculation that The Fiend might return at the end of the Rumble to either cost Orton or win the match isn't as likely as it might have been prior to the announcement.

What do you think? Is the meeting between these two the end of their feud? Or, is this just the beginning? And, does this rule out The Fiend to make a return?
