Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri promised a culture reset when the Cleveland Cavaliers swept them in the second round of the postseason, and that reportedly meant shopping franchise star DeMar DeRozan.

According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Raptors looked at dealing DeRozan to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Ontario native Andrew Wiggins. Stein added the notion that DeRozan is not an untouchable for Toronto, despite all of his excellent contributions to the franchise thus far.

Reasons why the trade didn't go through weren't detailed, but it's easy to envision Minny being reluctant to part with a player who's six years younger than DeRozan. That being said, Wiggins has reportedly been unhappy in Minnesota, which has sparked trade rumors. Perhaps the Timberwolves would look at trading him soon.

Minnesota was one of the busiest teams last offseason, acquiring Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler while signing veteran point guard Jeff Teague and power forward Taj Gibson. Minnesota won 47 games and snapped their 14-year playoff drought, so holding onto Wiggins turned out to be a genius decision.

As for the Raptors, keeping DeRozan also led to great things. The team set a franchise record with 59 wins, though they were ousted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round of the postseason. Now, they're reportedly the frontrunners to trade for San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard, and DeRozan would likely have to be part of the package going back the other way.

The Timberwolves and Raptors both look like teams that could undergo massive changes soon. Not only is Wiggins supposedly unhappy in Minny, but Butler rejected a whopping $110 million extension, and looks ready to test the free agent market next year.

If the Raptors strike out on a trade for Leonard, there's no reason to believe they won't try and deal for Wiggins again. Both teams may need to make some massive tweaks, and a deal involved a Wiggins-for-Leonard swap could benefit both sides.
