This week's episode of Monday Night Raw saw a drop in viewership from the post-WrestleMania 37.

According to Showbuzz Daily (h/t Marc Middleton of WrestlingInc.com), this week's episode averaged 1.907 million viewers. The show peaked in the first hour with 2.017 million viewers.

Last week's show — the first at the Yuengling Center ThunderDome — reached 2.026 million viewers, marking the second-most watched Raw episode of 2021 thus far. Raw has reached over two million viewers twice this year.

Although Raw saw a drop in viewership, this week's show was the third-most watched episode of the year, per WrestlingInc.com's viewership tracker. It also marked just the fourth episode to reach at least 1.9 million viewers.

The "Legends Night" special on Jan. 4 remains the most-watched show of 2021, having recorded 2.128 million viewers.

WWE has to be encouraged with the recent increase in viewership. The last two episodes have recorded considerably higher numbers than the Mar. 29 and Apr. 5 shows that both drew 1.701 million viewers.

Vince McMahon reportedly made several last-minute changes after arriving late to Raw. WWE had advertised a the first ever one-on-one match between Braun Strowman and Randy Orton, but the showdown never took place.

Instead, Orton faced Riddle in a losing effort.

The Monster Among Men helped Drew McIntyre during his handicap match against T-Bar and Mace. This led to a tag team match, which T-Bar and Mace won via disqualification.

Asuka faced Charlotte Flair in the main event, one week after The Queen interrupted her WrestleMania rematch with Rhea Ripley. Asuka won the match via pinfall thanks to interference form the Raw Women's Champion.

There's Some Work To Do

The Raw ratings have declined considerably over the last four years. As noted above, WWE has to be pleased with the strong numbers from the last two shows. But now comes the hard part: Finding a way to sustain the strong numbers. It'll be interesting to see how WWE goes about that as they build towards the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view, with Money in the Bank taking place a month later.
