Ratings for Monday Night Raw have slowly but surely gotten better over the past month and a half. The promising trend continued this week.

The post-Royal Rumble edition of Raw averaged 1.892 million viewers on USA Network, according to Showbuzz Daily (h/t Marc Middleton of WrestlingInc.com). The show peaked in the first hour with 1.981 million viewers.

This marked the best viewership for Raw since the Jan. 4 "Legends Night" special that drew 2.128 million viewers. This week's viewership was up considerably from the 1.820 million from last week's show.

Officials for WWE and USA Network have to be pleased with the television numbers since the Dec. 14 show. That episode drew just 1.527 million viewers, which marked the lowest in Raw's 28-year history. The previous week's episode of AEW Dynamite also beat Raw in the key 18-49 demographic (0.45 to 0.41).

Ratings increased in each of the next three weeks. The Dec. 21 and Dec. 28 episodes drew 1.691 million and 1.769 million viewers, respectively. As noted above, the Legends Night show reached 2.128 million viewers.

Ratings went down for the Jan. 11 episode (1.819 million viewers, per WrestlingInc.com's viewership tracker), before increasing for the Jan. 18 show (1.855 million). The numbers moved down to 1.820 million last week before rebounding again for the post-Royal Rumble show.

This week's episode of Monday Night Raw saw Sheamus turn on longtime friend Drew McIntyre, supposedly setting up the WWE Champion's next feud.

The main event saw Edge and Randy Orton conclude their feud, with the Rated-R Superstar picking up the victory thanks to interference from Alexa Bliss.

Ratings Should Continue To Increase From Here

With WrestleMania season just around the corner, WWE should be optimistic about increased viewership on Raw. Edge could make the jump to SmackDown or NXT following his Royal Rumble victory, but for now, his presence on Raw can only help the ratings. Even if he leaves Raw, there is more than enough star power on the roster to lead the way as WWE builds towards a long-term increase in viewership.
