When Jinder Mahal returned to Raw a couple of weeks ago, he was accompanied by one-half of Indus Sher, and a newcomer named Shanky. It wasn't clear why WWE had decided to split the former NXT Tag Team, but reports are surfacing now that there's a simple explanation for the change.

WhatCulture cites a report via Fightful Select, that Saurav -- the member of the team who did not appear -- simply isn't ready for television. As a result, Rinku Singh (now Veer), joined Mahal on Monday nights, and the duo was given Shanky as a third. It's not clear if Saurav will join the trio at a later date.

Mahal, Veer, and Shanky arrived on Raw last week, and Mahal picked up a win over Jeff Hardy in what was mostly a squash match. The trio appeared on Raw Talk after that week's show to introduce themselves, but did not appear on Raw this week.

There were rumors of numerous rewrites heading into this past Monday's show, which might have played a factor in them not appearing two consecutive weeks.

As for the future of Indus Sher, it's not clear if the team has a future. They had a short lived NXT run in 2020, but Saurav got himself in hot water when he leaked footage of Keith Lee winning the NXT Title in a match over Adam Cole. He was not released, as he was part of a team with Mahal at the Superstar Spectacle in January.

Will This Group Get A Push?

Speculation was that Mahal might start to work a program with Drew McIntyre, but Drew was front and center in the main event of this week's Raw, interfering in the open challenge match between Kofi Kingston and Bobbly Lashley. It doesn't seem like McIntyre will be leaving his feud with Lashley anytime soon.

In the meantime, Mahal's trio may make weekly appearances and defeat a number of stars in preparation for when McIntyre is ready to go. Who knows, by then, maybe Saurav is ready for television.
