Batista got under the skin of Triple H this week by claiming The Game has never beaten him, probably because that's a lie.

SmackDown's 1000th episode this past Tuesday was a great success. The highlight for most fans was the return of Evolution, in particular, the lengthy promo cut by Batista. In fact, at the time of typing this, the clip of the segment on WWE's YouTube has already been viewed an impressive 4.3 million times.

One of the reasons that part of the show has generated so much interest is because of how Batista signed off. The Animal was very complimentary about all of his former faction buddies. However, he also threw it out there that Triple H has never beaten him. That led to some tension in the ring and endless speculation that the former WWE Champion will return for a marquee match with The Game.

That's all well and good, and we would love nothing more than to see that match go down sometime soon. However, even when we first heard Batista's claim, we found it a little hard to believe. As it turns out, Triple H actually has beaten Batista. It may have been a long time ago but it happened. In a match that took place on Raw all the way back in 2005.

Now granted, even though it isn't clear from the clip above, it was not a one on one match. The bout actually featured both Batista and Shawn Michaels taking on the hybrid team of Triple H and Kurt Angle. If the finish of the match had not involved the two Evolution members, we would have probably given The Animal the benefit of the doubt with his SmackDown 1000 promo. However, as you can see, Batista takes a pedigree and is pinned by The Cerebral Assassin.

We understand that Batista hasn't been around for a while, but he could have done with some more specific wording on Tuesday. Even if he had just said that The Game had never beaten him one on one. The line would have still had the desired effect but would have also been 100% true. That said, someone might have run the truth by Vince McMahon and he just said that no one will remember it anyway.
