Dean Ambrose and WWE have announced that they will be parting ways in April, so where exactly does that leave Renee Young?
The wrestling world is currently awash with rumors that WWE Superstars are unhappy. In fact, some of that talk is a lot more than mere rumor. Hideo Itami has left the company and Dean Ambrose will be leaving when his current contract ends in April. The Ambrose loss is a big one. WWE never wants to lose former World Champions unless they are the ones showing them the door.
Why exactly Ambrose wants out has been speculated to death. The assumption is that money has nothing to do with it, and that The Lunatic is simply sick of the creative direction he has been given. We can't say we blame him. His heel character received an injection into his butt cheek live on Raw in 2018. What was that all about?
The one person Ambrose will have undoubtedly discussed his decision to leave WWE with is his wife Renee Young. If you're a WWE Superstar, being married to a fellow employee can make your life a lot easier. Ambrose and Young, in particular, since they are both on the same brand. They can travel together, hotel together. However, now that Ambrose is leaving that obviously won't be the case unless Young leaves with him.
According to PWInsider, that will not be the case. During a recent Q&A on the site, a fan asked what Young's contract status is. PWInsider confirmed that she has not asked for her release and that she will likely be staying on with WWE beyond Ambrose's departure. There is clearly no bad blood between Ambrose and WWE so why would she want to leave right now?
On top of that, WWE has shown a lot of faith in Young and invested a lot in her. In 2018, she became the first full-time female announcer on Raw in WWE history. She is doing a great job at it too. Young was also on the announce team at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. A small step when it comes to female Superstars performing on the show, but an important step nonetheless. We thoroughly enjoy Young's work and we sincerely hope she remains with WWE for years to come.
