Renee Young appeared on tonight's SummerSlam kickoff show and confirmed that it would be her last appearance in WWE.

News broke earlier this week that Renee Young will be leaving WWE. However, it was unclear how long it would be until the announcer/presenter/interviewer would officially leave the company. Whether it would be an effective immediately type deal, a departure at the end of her current contract, or if Young's contract is about to come to a natural end and that's why the news is breaking now.

Fans of Young may have feared that since the news became public domain, it would mean we had already seen the last of Young in WWE. Vince McMahon and co. don't tend to give screen time to those who are heading off to work elsewhere. Oddly enough, one of the only other recent examples we can think of is Young's husband, Jon Moxley.

Thankfully, that is not the case. Young revealed on social media that she would be a part of SummerSlam, and did, in fact, take part in the PPV's kickoff show. Young was not the host, however. That role went to Charly Caruso. Young was effectively a guest, and during her introduction at the top of the show, she described her appearance on Sunday night as her "last hurrah" in WWE.

That presumably means the last time Young will appear on WWE television has now passed. Now the speculation on where she might pop up next can begin. It's unclear whether Young is subject to the same 90-day non compete clause that in-ring Superstars have to adhere to. Probably not, which might mean that if she is headed to you-know-where, it's within the realms of possibility that we could see her make an appearance as soon as Thursday on Dynamite.

Young might not be heading to AEW, of course, and fans have just assumed that's the case since she is married to its World Champion. Young has experience away from wrestling and might want to return to that once she is officially detached from WWE. Or, she might take some time off and it could be a while before we see her pop up anywhere new.
