While isolated due to having contracted COVID-19, Renee Young shared a social media post that she's got a big announcement set to drop this Wednesday.
In a matter of a couple of hours, there were over 700 comments as to what it might be Young is teasing. One follower took guesses, asking if she recovered from COVID-19, was pregnant, or going back to Canada. Young responded, "Lol sadly none of the above. But it’s still good!"
Really, this could be anything but Young often talks about wanting new shows. She was recently on with Corey Graves' show After the Bell and said she always wanted WWE to bring back more opportunities to host. Now that WWE Backstage is canceled, there's certainly not a lot of Young to do these days.
Some fans guessed that perhaps Young was leaving WWE. In fact, a lot fans were hoping that she was heading to AEW, especially after rumors broke this week that no one from WWE had reached out to her since learning she'd been diagnosed. That's not likely. On Graves' podcast, Young did say that whatever new project she might do, she wanted to do it with WWE.
So, What Could It Be?
There are a few ideas kicking around that make sense. It might not be wrestling related at all. That said, if it is, perhaps it has something to do with a change to WWE Backstage that would bring it under the WWE umbrella. Or, WWE might be giving her a podcast to host on their podcast platform. Maybe WWE is bringing back Talking Smack like they brought in Raw Talk and she'll be hosting that show again?
The most popular answer is that her announcement might have something to do with having a cooking show. The Bump's Matt Camp hinted at that and it was a popular response, suggesting she's alluded to wanting to do something similar in the past.
