Veteran WWE superstar Jeff Hardy has lost the vast majority of his matches here in 2021, leading fans to wonder about his future with the company.

It's not rare for WWE to "bury" a superstar who's about to leave, after all.

Jinder Mahal easily defeated Hardy on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, but this isn't a sign that Hardy is on his way out of the company.

A WWE source told Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com that Hardy has "a good chunk of time left on his deal."

Last year, Hardy revealed that he signed a new deal with the company. PWInsider.com was informed at the time that his contract "was in the 2-3 year range."

WWE conducted a long series of budget cuts last month, and Hardy obviously wasn't among the released talents. It's hard to envision the company releasing him now, with plenty of time left on his contract.

Jeff's brother, Matt Hardy, left the WWE in March of last year. He cited the desire to have more creative freedom, something WWE wouldn't give. The elder Hardy debuted for AEW on the March 18, 2020 episode of Dynamite.

Matt was brutally attacked twice by Randy Orton,(on the Feb. 10 and Feb. 17, 2020 episodes of Monday Night Raw), after he confronted The Viper over his attack on Edge. That was WWE's way of writing Hardy off of television before he left the company.

But at this time, it looks like Jeff is here to stay in WWE for the long run. A possible move to AEW or a different promotion won't take place any time soon.

This Could Be Hardy's Final WWE Run

Hardy's WWE contract is supposedly up in the next year or two. Considering how much WWE has underused him over the past year, it's safe to guess that we could be witnessing his final run with the company. Hardy simply deserves better, and you know AEW would get much better usage out of him.
