Roman Reigns' feud with cousin Jey Uso ended last month, and after defeating Drew McIntyre at Survivor Series, it's time for WWE to shift towards his next opponent.

Several reports suggest that Reigns will next feud with former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan, one of the top faces on SmackDown Live. However, Bryan is currently in a feud with Uso, who turned heel by viciously attacking him at the end of the Oct. 30 episode of SmackDown.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Sai Mohan of WrestlingInc.com), a Universal Championship match between Bryan and Reigns is "scheduled for" the Dec. 20 TLC pay-per-view. However, Meltzer noted that this match could be delayed until the Royal Rumble event.

Interestingly, Meltzer noted that there isn't anything "definitive" planned for TLC, with the exception of a Braun Strowman-Drew McIntyre WWE Championship match.

Bryan defeated Uso in the main event of SmackDown Live last week, and it doesn't look like WWE is ready to move on from that program just yet. But it's supposedly only a matter of time until Reigns and Bryan face off.

Daniel Bryan returns from retirement

WrestleMania 37 is only four months away now. Assuming Reigns holds the Universal Championship long-term, there's realistically only time for one or two more feuds before the big show.

So it might make sense to hold off a program with Bryan until the new year. That feud could last a month or two, and then WWE would be able to transition to Reigns' WrestleMania 37 opponent/program.

This Should Be An Exciting Feud

It's highly unlikely that Bryan will dethrone Reigns as the Universal Champion, but that's not what matters here. WWE is building up Reigns as a massive, merciless and villainous heel, and a feud with Bryan will go a long way in giving his character more momentum. Bryan is a perennial fan favorite who's more than happy to put other superstars over, and he should help build Reigns' heel status even more. Add it all up, and a Reigns-Bryan feud should be nothing short of exciting and entertaining.
