It is being reported that the Usos have come to terms on an extension with WWE that will see them stay with the company long-term.

It appeared All Elite Wrestling was going to monopolize the news on big signings in the professional wrestling industry on Wednesday when they announced their broadcast team, including a three-year deal for WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross. It turns out, Ross' signing wasn't the only big contract news of the day.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the Usos have been locked into a new contract with WWE heading into WrestleMania 35.

It was long speculated that Jimmy & Jey Uso would re-sign their WWE deals, but until this report on Wednesday, pen had not been put to paper. WWE has not officially announced the extension and terms of the deal have not been disclosed but it appears the extension will be a lucrative one for one of the most decorated tag teams in WWE over the past few years and one that will keep them with WWE long-term.

What This Means

The news comes at an interesting time. Until Tuesday night, there was no plan for the current SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions for this year’s WrestleMania. But, on Tuesday's edition of the show, after competing in an 8-man Tag Team match, WrestleMania host, Alexa Bliss advised the Usos they would be defending their SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships in a Fatal 4-Way Match at this year's show of all shows.

Some may speculate the delay in the decision to put them in a match may have had something to do with their contract status, but it was more likely a timing thing. What fans in the WWE Universe can likely assume is, the Usos just became much bigger favorites to win their match and walk away from WrestleMania the reigning champs.
