WWE could resume touring with live crowds sooner than initially expected.

Citing a source, Andrew Zarian of The Mat Men Podcast reports that WWE is planning a return to touring with its main roster for July 16-19.

It should be noted that WWE has the Yuengling Center website until Aug. 3. The company hasn't announced any details regarding a return to touring.

WWE had fans for the March 11, 2020 episode of NXT. Afterwards, the company began running its shows at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida with no fans in attendance.

Since that episode of NXT, WWE has held a live crowd for one event: The two-day WrestleMania 37 event at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay. WWE has used the ThunderDome concept since the Aug. 21 episode of SmackDown.

Last month, WWE Chief Financial Officer Kristina Salen said in an earnings call that the company hopes to "return to touring in the second half of this year."

At this time, it looks like WWE's next four pay-per-view events will take place without fans. WrestleMania Backlash, Money in the Bank, and Extreme Rules will be held at the Yuengling Center. The Performance Center will hold NXT TakeOver: In Your House.

SummerSlam 2021 will reportedly take place on Aug. 22. WWE hasn't announced a venue yet, but Las Vegas and New York are reportedly possible locations.

Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated recently reported that WWE is planning to hold SummerSlam in front of a live crowd.

Not Far Away

We'll just have to wait and see if touring returns in July. Even if it doesn't, it's becoming pretty clear that WWE is nearing a return to touring.

AEW has already finalized a touring schedule for the month of July, and WWE shouldn't be too far off. The bottom line is that WWE superstars will be back to performing in front of a live crowd before long.
