Several late changes were reportedly made for this week's episode of Monday Night Raw.

According to Dave Meltzer (h/t Paul Davis of WrestlingNews.co), WWE chairman Vince McMahon ripped up this week's script several times before the show aired.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, a final script for Raw wasn't finished "as of 5:30 PM". He also reported that Raw consisted of several "rewrites."

The main event of Monday Night Raw saw Kofi Kingston defeat WWE Champion Bobby Lashley in a singles match thanks to interference from Drew McIntyre.

Davis reported that this match and finish wasn't initially planned and that it was only "decided on an hour before the show."

While the referee was distracted, McIntyre grabbed MVP's cane and hit Lashley with it. Kingston then surprised the WWE Champion with a roll-up pin to score the victory.

The Miz, one of the top superstars on Raw, reportedly suffered a torn ACL during his match with Damian Priest (which was invaded by zombies) at WrestleMania Backlash. on Sunday.

The Miz's tag team partner, John Morrison, wound up facing Priest in a singles match. The latter wound up winning the match via pinfall.

Braun Strowman faced Lashley and McIntyre in a triple threat match for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania Backlash. Strowman was absent from Raw this week, and MVP stated in the show's opening segment that The Monster Among Men was dealing with broken ribs.

The Show Turned Out Fine

Yesterday's episode may have required several rewrites by the WWE chairman, but it turned out to be a quality show anyway. Kingston and Lashley put on a superb main event match, and it looks like the former could be the next challenger for the WWE Championship. Charlotte Flair and Asuka put together another excellent singles match, and Ricochet vs.  United States Champion Sheamus turned out to be a thrilling back-and-forth bout.
