Rey Mysterio doesn't only want his son Dominick to carry on the family name, but would also like him to wear his iconic mask after he retires.

For many families, wrestling is very much in their blood. The Harts, the McMahons, the Guerreros. The list goes on and on. Rey Mysterio is another performer who has wrestling blood pumping through his veins. At a young age, the luchador chose to follow in the footsteps of his uncle. 30 years later, Rey's own son has followed him into the business.

Truth be told, Dominick Mysterio has actually been in the business for a while. As a child, he was embroiled in a WWE storyline during which Eddie Guerrero claimed Dominick to be his child, not Rey's. It was one of the last major storylines of Guerrero's career, and one that is still discussed to this day.

Recently, we saw Dominick return to WWE as a man. Not to wrestle, but he has been training. Mysterio recently told Wrestle Zone that one of his final wrestling goals is to compete in the ring with his son. Not necessarily against him, but in a tag match of some sort. "To be able to share the ring and to have a match with him at my side...it’s something that once he told me he wanted to break into this business, I’ve imagined that moment ever since," Mysterio revealed.

When that day does come, it will likely signal the beginning of the end for Mysterio's career. However, it will not signal the end of the Mysterio name. Like he inherited the name from his uncle, he hopes that Dominic will carry it on in the same way. Not only that, but he also plans on handing over his iconic mask to his son when he retires.

WWE has always been big on second and third generation wrestlers. The prospect of a third generation Mysterio complete with an instantly recognizable mask sounds like an impossible opportunity to pass up on. Fingers crossed Dominick is as good a performer as his old man. With Mysterio as his dad and Lance Storm training him, we imagine he will be pretty good once he's ready to go.
