WWE has finally announced when Rey Mysterio will be making his return to television, and you do not have long to wait.

There is an awful lot of stuff going on in WWE right now. Super Show-Down took place two days ago, Evolution is at the end of this month, Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia is five days after that, and then later in November, we have Survivor Series. Not to mention the Mae Young Classic and Mixed Match Challenge, both of which are currently ongoing.

All of that action, and we haven't even touched upon the fact that in a little over a week from the time of typing this, we will be watching the 1000th episode of SmackDown. There will be a lot happening on the show to celebrate the anniversary but not much has been announced by WWE. All we know for sure is that Evolution will reform, so Batista has gotten an invite after all, maybe because he complained about it on Twitter.

That complaining was warranted since Batista played a big role in SmackDown's history. One of his greatest opponents during that time was Rey Mysterio, and WWE has now announced that the luchador will also be on the show. Fans have been waiting for Mysterio's TV return to be announced ever since he officially re-signed with WWE recently.

While Batista has been off of WWE television for more than four years, Mysterio has actually made a couple of one night returns in 2018. Firstly at the Royal Rumble and then again three months later at the Greatest Royal Rumble. This return is a more permanent one though, and the former World Champion has also been included on WWE 2K19, his first video game appearance for four years.

What we now want to know is who Mysterio will lock up with first upon his return. While most fans likely can't wait for dream matches versus the likes of Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles, apparently his first feud will be against Shinsuke Nakamura. Another dream match, and one that could end with Mysterio winning one of the only titles that has managed to evade him his whole career, the United States Championship.
