WWE Prepares To Offer Massive Contracts To Cody Rhodes, Young Bucks & Kenny Omega

WWE is reportedly prepared to offer Kenny Omega and the rest of The Elite a lot of money to come to WWE in early 2019.

Wrestlers showing up in rival promotions without anyone knowing it's going to happen is a thing of the past. It's unfortunate because it made for some of the most memorable moments in the industry's history. Lex Luger showing up on the first episode of Nitro, or Chris Jericho interrupting The Rock live on Raw.

These days, the contract endings of wrestlers are often well known. For example, it is common knowledge that Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, and the rest of The Elite's current New Japan contracts end in January 2019. That has led to endless wild speculation on where the group, or some of it at least, might end up. All involved remain very tight-lipped on the whole situation.

Despite what Rhodes and co say, there is still a very real possibility The Elite could become WWE Superstars in 2019. That's what Joe Peisich of the Barnburner’s No Holds Barred podcast believes anyway. Even though Omega and The Young Bucks have rejected WWE's advances in the past, Peisich believes that Vince McMahon is willing to up the ante, and there's a good reason for that.

Mr. McMahon is understandably pretty panicked at the prospect of a WrestleMania season without Roman Reigns on the roster. The Big Dog has headlined the last four after all. Even though none of The Elite has proved themselves under WWE's banner, it would appear that McMahon is willing to take a punt on them. Peisich also reported that if all of The Elite were to sign, they would all be earning the same amount.

The trouble is, for perhaps the first time in almost 20 years, WWE might have found a group of top wrestlers who have no interest in working for them. Following the success of All In and everything else The Elite has been up to, why would they want to sign for WWE right now? Then again, everyone in the business seems to have a price. If it's high enough and The Elite are promised they'll be used correctly, perhaps we could see them performing in WWE sooner rather than later.
