Ric Flair has revealed that it may be as long as a year before we see Charlotte back in a WWE ring.

The WWE locker room feels as if it was fitted with a revolving door at the start of 2020. A number of reasons have contributed to Superstars dropping in and out, whether it be the pandemic or taking time off to heal and have surgery. For Charlotte Flair, it's the latter. The last time fans saw The Queen was when she tapped out to Asuka more than two months ago.

The official reason for Flair's absence was so she could have surgery to fix issues with her breast implants. That alone would likely not have warranted a massive amount of time away from the ring. However, her Hall of Fame father Ric Flair has revealed surgery on her implants might not be the only thing keeping The Queen sidelined right now.

During an appearance on The Wrestling Inc. Daily Podcast, Ric revealed that Charlotte might be away from WWE for as long as a year. "This time she knows, and her personal physician and the company doctors have reinforced it, that she can’t hurry the process," The Nature Boy explained. "I got to remind her sometimes like Seth [Rollins] was off for a year. She’s likely out for a year. It’s not the end. You’ll come back."

While Ric didn't explicitly say what Charlotte's other issues are, or whether she will need more surgeries, he did say that her knees and rotator cuffs will need time to heal. Naitch specifically referred to Charlotte's moonsaults and the way she lands taking a toll on her knees, adding that she needs to make sure she is 100% before she returns.

Fans might have been fearful of what might happen to the women's division this year. Not only does Charlotte appear to be out of action indefinitely, but Becky Lynch revealed after Money in the Bank that she's pregnant, so will also be taking some time off. Bayley and Sasha Banks have filled the void left by the division's two leaders, and their cast of characters continues to grow.
