It’s been more than half a year since Ric Flair cheated death, undergoing a medical procedure that left him in a coma for several days and forced him to quit drinking and start living a healthier lifestyle. While his recovery has gone very well so far, reports suggest that the Nature Boy will be going under the knife once again this summer, for another procedure related to his August 2017 surgery.

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the 68-year-old Flair will be having his colostomy bag removed sometime in July 2018. This comes little more than a month after Fightful reported that the “extreme nature” of Flair’s medical condition required that he use a colostomy bag, which was inserted last August when Flair was placed in a medical coma. Because of this, Flair reportedly would choose not to eat on days he’s scheduled to make a public appearance.

Wrestling fans around the world were all hoping for the best and praying for Flair’s recovery when reports emerged in August that he had been hospitalized for what was then an undisclosed medical issue. While initial reports suggested that he had a heart attack, or underwent heart surgery, it was eventually confirmed that Flair suffered from a major bowel obstruction after initially complaining of severe abdominal pain. Speaking to Fox 5 Atlanta, Flair’s doctor explained that such a medical issue could lead to a “cascade of problems,” including, but not limited to organ failure, which Flair did suffer from while hospitalized.

Luckily for Flair, he was able to survive the operation and start making appearances again. Aside from taking part in Monday Night Raw's 25th anniversary special, he was also present on SmackDown Live when his daughter, Charlotte Flair, became a first-time SmackDown Women's Champion. It was an emotional moment for everyone involved, as Flair appeared in front of the WWE Universe for the first time since his medical emergency.
