Rick Steiner's son Bronson Rechsteiner underwent a tryout with WWE recently, according to a report from Itrwrestling.com.
The 6ft, 230 lb athlete is a former NFL player who was waived by the Baltimore Ravens this year. He's now looking to pursue a career in professional wrestling. Bronson, 23, is also the nephew of Scott Steiner.
Rechsteiner fought Jamie Hall at AFW/WOW WrestleJam 8 back in October, using Scott's Recliner to win, with Scott at ringside.
“I’m open to it. But I know wrestling will always be there for me," he told Sports Illustrated back in April. It’s always been my dream to carry the family’s legacy in professional sports, and I’m staying focused on taking football as far as I can.”
It's not known how the tryout with WWE went but, given his wrestling background, he will likely land a spot with the promotion. A developmental spell with NXT is definitely attainable for the 23-year-old.
Wrestling Royalty
Bronson comes from wrestling royalty. His father and uncle were one of the most formidable tag teams of the 80s and 90s. The Steiner Brothers won titles with NWA, IWGP, WCW and WWE.
Rick Steiner had a good run as a singles competitor before teaming up with Scott but the latter had the better solitary career, having been part of nWo as well. He also achieved success after stepping away from the faction.
The youngster, who appears to have put football behind him, certainly has the build to be successful as a wrestler but it remains to be seen where his tryout takes him.
