Amid rumors that Conor McGregor might well be on his way to WWE, Roman Reigns has thrown a little shade at The Notorious One.

When it comes to grabbing the attention of fans without doing what you're actually famous for, there is no one quite like Conor McGregor. This past week, he managed to do that without getting in trouble with the law for once. The Irish MMA fighter announced his retirement. Strangely, it was shortly after he revealed that he was planning on his next fight for UFC taking place this July.

Nevertheless, McGregor is now officially retired, at the time of typing this at least. If The Notorious One truly is done inside the octagon, what will he do next? At the moment, a step into the pro wrestling sphere appears to be the expected next step. There are even rumors that McGregor could be doing something with WWE as soon as WrestleMania 35.

As soon as news of McGregor's retirement broke, fellow Irish athletes Becky Lynch and Finn Balor took to social media and urged him to join them in WWE. However, we can't imagine the entire locker room would be quite as welcoming. That was evident from Roman Reigns' recent comments during an appearance on ESPN Deportes.

When asked about the potential arrival of McGregor in WWE, Reigns replied "we got the best spot on 205 Live. He is a cruiserweight, no doubt, and we’ll let him go in there and flip with all those guys." Can't imagine that's what McGregor has in mind Big Dog, or Vince McMahon for that matter if there is indeed a potential deal in place between the two parties.

After what McGregor said about WWE Superstars a while ago on social media, we understand why Reigns said the above. However, in doing so, he may have also offended the Superstars currently plying their trade on 205 Live. We know it wasn't intentional but it probably wasn't the best choice of words. Also, imagine an alternate universe where McGregor is a 205 Live Superstar? It would fill the void of someone who is great on the mic for that brand which was left vacant following the release of Enzo Amore.
