WWE has teased a feud between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan heading into SummerSlam, since the latter's sidekick is apparently responsible for a series of attacks on the Big Dog.

However, WWE never finalized a match between the two superstars, and barring a last-second addition to the SummerSlam card, it's unlikely that we'll see Reigns and Bryan square off in Toronto.

But according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ringside News), WWE could still run a Reigns-Bryan angle at SummerSlam, even though the two won't be squaring off in the ring.

Meltzer reported that Vince McMahon didn't have space nor time to get a Bryan-Reigns match set up for SummerSlam. that said, Meltzer suggested that there could be a "reveal" of Reigns' attacker plus a continuation of the angle with Bryan at SummerSlam.

Last week, somebody tried to injure Reigns by dropping television equipment and debris on him backstage. Then on this week's episode of Raw, an unknown driver rammed into Reigns' vehicle in the parking lot when he was about to confront Samoa Joe.

Rowan was spotted in the surveillance footage in the original attack, and on this week's episode of SmackDown, Buddy Murphy told Reigns that Bryan's sidekick was indeed responsible for the attacks.

With Rowan acting as Bryan's enforcer and tag team partner, you know that the latter will be tied into this storyline with Reigns. It's also been suggested that new SmackDown Executive Director Eric Bischoff admires Bryan and wants to give him a major push, so it's no surprise that the latter is about to clash with one of the company's top faces.

What This Means

Both Reigns and Bryan have been in need of new feuds for quite some time, and given their places as two of the top main eventers in all of WWE, it makes perfect sense to pit the two against one another. Reigns is earning more and more popularity by the day, while Bryan continues to shine as a top-notch heel. This feud has all the makings to be one of the best of the PG Era, and it should begin once and for all this Sunday.
