To the surprise of nobody, Roman Reigns headlined WrestleMania for a fourth consecutive year in a row - this time dropping a Universal Championship bout to Brock Lesnar.

Once again, Reigns struggled to win the fans over on his side, with the packed Mercedes-Benz Superdome chanting "This is awful!" Despite WWE's best efforts over the last four years, Reigns simply isn't getting over with the fans.

But it appeared as though The Big Dog was ready for more hate and heat from the fans. Prior to his bout with Lesnar on the Grandest Stage of Them All, Reigns spoke to Inside the Ropes and was asked about the statement he made in that he's "the best wrestler in the world," - which naturally caused a stir among the WWE Universe.

"4 in a Row. Top that," he said, while adding that he wanted the crowd to be as loud as they could be. Unfortunately for him and the creative team, the loudness was simply boos and the aforementioned "This is awful," chants.

This comes nearly two months after Reigns posted a similar statement on Twitter:

Reigns also headlined WrestleMania 31 where he faced Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. But during the match, Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract, pinned Reigns and became the new champion

A year later, he faced Triple H in the main event for the same belt. This mediocre match saw Reigns predictably pin The Game, but he was met with some of the loudest boos in WWE history, and things did not get any better in the following weeks.

Then Reigns faced Undertaker at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, destroying and dominating The Deadman. Reigns handed 'Taker just his second loss ever on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and was predictably met with extremely loud boos on the following day's episode of Monday Night Raw.

And with that, the war between the WWE creative team and Reigns vs. the fans will continue. At this point, there's no telling if it will ever end, and the fans may one day have to start accepting him as "the guy."
