Roman Reigns said, during an exclusive Brisk "Cans of Whup Ass" interview, he wished WWE would have given the brand split a legit chance.

Reigns admitted that the WWE schedule was grueling and with projects like the Brisk promotion for his new Hobbs and Shaw film, life as a WWE Superstar isn't always easy. We asked if the fact that the brand split was all but gone and him being a focal point for both Raw and SmackDown Live, made things harder or if was he in favor of appearing on both shows?

Reigns said, "For me, I'm following a guy like Cena. He had a lot of time and was dedicated and so focused on being that workhorse." He added that it's not a bad thing to be needed and he certainly appreciates it. In saying that, when WWE has a brand split situation, "I do often times think of how powerful it could be if you could only see me on SmackDown Live. I was curious to see how that would work," Reigns admitted.

The reason was, he would have loved to create that true competition between the brands, Raw and SmackDown Live. And, if you've read notes from our other articles on our interview with Reigns, you know he truly doesn't see a company like AEW as competition. That means, really, only WWE can compete with itself.

He said, "I've done a good job of making myself stand out to the point that I might be needed on both Raw and SmackDown." He adds for now, while he's healthy enough to knock the schedule out of the park, he has no problem with the way things are.

What This Means

Reigns isn't the only one who would love to have a distinct brand split and with Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman being hired recently by WWE, perhaps he might get his wish and true competition will start between the brands. For fans who watched Raw on Monday, there was a different feeling in the air, which not coincidentally came when Heyman took over as Executive Director.

For now, you can see Reigns on SmackDown Live and soon in the upcoming film Hobbs and Shaw or in an upcoming commercial for the new Brisk "Cans of Whup Ass."
