Real Madrid is on the hunt for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and Chelsea's Eden Hazard may be the man they call upon.
Real Madrid is currently going through a transitional period unlike any other that they have experienced in recent years. The La Liga giants may have won their third Champions League title in as many years this summer, but domestically things were less than stellar. Real finished third in La Liga behind local rivals Athletico Madrid and a full seventeen points adrift of champions, Barcelona.
New manager, Julen Lopetegui is already in place following his controversial departure from the Spanish national side, and Cristiano Ronaldo has made his way to Juventus. There are undoubtedly more changes to come though as the five-time Ballon d'Or winner needs to replaced. Lopetegui likely has a list of names in mind that he wants to bring to the Bernabeu.

According to Sky Sports, one of the names near the top of that list is Chelsea's Eden Hazard. The Belgian forward hinted that he may very well move away from Stamford Bridge this summer when he said "it might be time to discover something different." Real legend, Clarence Seedorf certainly thinks Hazard would be a good fit, labeling him "one of the best players in the world."
Hazard has been honing his craft in the Premier League for the past six seasons and there was even a time when many soccer fans might have considered him the third best player in the world behind Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Aside from winning the Champions League, he has won everything that there is to win in England, so maybe that's why he has Real on his mind.
Both Real and Chelsea are in for interesting seasons. The two top European sides have new managers that need to get settled in, but both will already have a lot of pressure on them to succeed. If Hazard does follow through and leave Stamford Bridge, both sides will have lost their best player too. Neither team achieved what they would have wanted in the league last season and, one way or another will be looking to improve in 2018/19.
