Ronda Rousey will be joining much of the WWE roster when they tour Europe in May. That's great news for fans who were hoping to see the former MMA star and hot commodity for WWE at live events. As part of that tour, WWE has released who her opponent will be for many of those matches.

Rousey has been announced to face Mickie James at the May 19th live event in Paris, France and will likely do so at any other events she attends. The choice of opponent makes perfect sense considering how much of a veteran James is and how new to wrestling Rousey is. WWE needs a believable opponent that can afford to take losses and will make Rousey look good in the ring. James is a perfect fit.

James also has a little history with Rousey. When Rousey signed her contract at a pay-per-view, there were arguments that perhaps she was overshadowing the women of WWE. James was one of those females on the WWE roster not shy about taking a shot at the former UFC Champion. She said, "Please 1) this is a wrestling ring darling... not an octagon!!! 2) this game is played VERY different! 3) don’t insult 20yrs of mastering my craft by assuming any woman on our roster is chopped liver to... an outsider. 4) she’s been beat before, more than once, has she not?"

Also included on that card will be the following matches:

* Ronda Rousey vs. Mickie James

* Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe

* Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin

* Bobby Lashley vs. Elias

* Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt vs. Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens

* Bobby Roode vs. Finn Balor vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins

Rousey has been a huge get for WWE since debuting at the Royal Rumble in January. When she appears at events the ticket sales go up and she's been worth the investment for WWE, making it essential that the company has her at as many live events as possible to increase revenue gates.

While international tours often do well for WWE in general, having Rousey a part of these shows is sure to make the draw even more attractive. James was not moved during the Superstar Shake-up even though WWE moved many of the mid-card female talent and Rousey is rumored to be building towards a potential match with Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35.
