There's a report out WWE might be adding last-minute changes to the Extreme Rules card to wipe the slate clean for Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman.

According to a report by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE officials held a creative meeting on Wednesday night to iron out some last-minute details to the Extreme Rules card this Sunday. Right now, there is no official word on if any big card changes are coming, but speculation is that a match or two might be added to finish off programs that were started and finishes might be altered to bring storylines to an end.

Typically, WWE would continue on with programs they'd already started. In this case, the company wants to give both Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff as clean of a slate to work with as they possibly can. That means not having lingering feuds still on-going that neither Heyman nor Bischoff might want to roll with.

There's also been speculation on two possible additions to the Extreme Rules card - Shinsuke Nakamura vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor, and Asuka and Kairi Sane vs. WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Peyton Royce and Billie Kay. Adding those matches would allow WWE to finish off the storylines that were introduced and get all six Superstars a new fresh starting point from which to have the new Executive Directors take their characters.

What This Means

It's a good idea by WWE to give Bischoff and Heyman whatever creative freedom they can and not handcuff either with ideas they didn't originally come up with. If WWE is giving as much freedom to the two new directors as it appears they might be, fresh starts for almost everyone is "best for business."

The only downside here is, some of these matches just became a lot more predictable.
