There is a report that the agent for CM Punk might be in contact with reps from FS1 about hosting a WWE show on the Fox network.
As the report reads, an agency representing both CM Punk and WWE recently reached out to Fox officials about Punk possibly doing work with WWE once again. The only asterisks here is that Punk wouldn’t actually be working “with” WWE but with Fox in a project that is about WWE.
Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which represents WWE and Punk, recently had an agent reach out to Fox higher-ups about having Punk serve as one of the co-hosts of the upcoming WWE in-studio talk show on FS1, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
That show would air on FS1 on a Tuesdays and represent some of the additional programming Fox wants for WWE and partially take the place of the NXT show they thought they were getting before the announcement NXT would be moving to USA Network. Speculation is that WWE is not at all happy about the idea of Punk co-hosting a show that talks about the company Punk still has a beef with.
It was also noted by the Observer that this isn't something that Punk himself particularly wants. The idea is apparently being spearheaded by Punk's agent. When asked, a source in WWE has denied there’s anything to the speculation.
What This Means
If true, this would be an incredibly interesting turn of events and must-watch tv considering how little Punk and the WWE seem to like each other. A man of principle (we think) it would be hard to imagine Punk taking a gig that helps WWE in any way.
Then again, when it comes to the world of professional wrestling, stranger things have happened.
