Current reports suggest WWE might be moving towards a match between Finn Balor's "The Demon" and Bray Wyatt's "The Fiend" at SummerSlam.

A recent discussion on Wrestling Observer Radio hinted that, after Bray Wyatt's re-debut on WWE Raw this past Monday, the company's plan might be to continue on with a program with Finn Balor that will see the two meet in the ring at SummerSlam. The kicker is, it won't be Wyatt verus Balor, but "The Demon" versus "The Fiend"

On Raw, Wyatt's "Fiend" character knocked the lights out, popped into the ring and when the lights came back on, he had Balor in the Sister Abigail finisher. Balor was left laying as the crowd chanted "holy sh-t" having waited so long for Wyatt's return.

At the same time, speculation is that Balor has asked for some time off from WWE to refresh and it appears on the way out, WWE is using him to put Wyatt's new character over. Balor lost the Intercontinental Title to Shinsuke Nakamura and then lost to Samoa Joe on Raw. Will WWE really test Balor's patience by having the undefeated Demon lose his first match on the main roster?

What This Means

If this is the direction WWE chooses to go, it means a couple of things. First, they have big plans for Wyatt and his "Fiend" character. Second, the company is willing to pile a pretty significant loss onto Balor's resume.

Few people have beaten his Demon character and to that end, it's only happened in NXT. If WWE is willing to give Balor his first loss with the face paint on, it appears they've decided the future for him is not as bright as it is Wyatt's.

A win for Wyatt would be huge but would fans be happy? To this point, everyone seems to love "The Fiend" and anything connected to Firefly Fun House. Will they continue to if it means sacrificing Balor and "The Demon" character at SummerSlam?
