Roman Reigns defeated Edge and Daniel Bryan in the main event of day two for WrestleMania 37 to retain his Universal Championship. Now, the question is what lies ahead.

We already know that WWE Champion Bobby Lashley will defend his title at the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view in a rematch against Drew McIntyre. So what'sn ext for Reigns?

It's reasonable to think that The Rated-R Superstar and/or Bryan will get at least one more title match against Reigns. But once that program ends, it sounds like another popular superstar on SmackDown will soon challenge for the Universal Championship.

Before WrestleMania, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter explained that Big E could soon challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship.

"(Big) E is theoretically en route to being build for a Universal title program, but WWE booking usually means you lose your secondary title when you move up the card."

Big E lost the Intercontinental Championship to Apollo Crews, following interference from Dabba Kato. So if Big E's program with Crews ends soon, it could be a hint that he's about to enter a feud with Reigns.

Big E Fastlane

Big E was listed as the favorite to win the men's Royal Rumble, leading to speculation that he would receive a long overdue singles push. Of course, it was Edge who went on to win the match.

Reigns' program with Edge and Bryan has already lasted nearly two months. It's anybody's guess how much longer it will last, but we at least have an idea regarding the next challenger for Reigns' Universal title.

Big E Deserves It

Simply put, Big E is long overdue for a main event singles push. It was expected to happen after he was split from The New Day at the 2020 WWE Draft, but WWE hasn't gone through with it yet. He's a perennial fan favorite with incredible microphone skills to go along with his world-class in-ring abilities. Big E would be an ideal opponent for Reigns, so let's hope runs it soon.
