Triple H returned on last week's episode of Monday Night Raw to rekindle his program with longtime rival and former Evolution counterpart, Randy Orton.

The Viper was initially scheduled to face Drew McIntyre in the main event. However, the WWE Champion had to miss the show after testing positive for COVID-19. He entered quarantine and addressed the WWE Universe via video call.

With McIntyre out, Triple H served as his replacement. He opened up Raw but was interrupted by Orton, who challenged him to a fight (not an official match). The Game ultimately accepted Orton's offer.

The fight was interrupted by Alexa Bliss, who closed out the show by throwing a fireball at Orton's face.

Some fans may be wondering if WWE is planning to resume the Orton-Triple H program. However, the latter didn't appear on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, and it looks like his return was simply a one-off.

In a recent Rumor Roundup, Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats wrote that The Game's return "isn’t expected to lead to anything more and he’s back on the sidelines indefinitely."

Orton is still in a feud with Bliss and "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt, so it's hard to envision a scenario that would see him and Triple H resume their program any time soon.

Triple H didn't wrestle a single match in 2020. He's extremely occupied with NXT and his role as the Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development. Even if we see him wrestle at a major event like WrestleMania, it's unlikely to be a program with long-term buildup.

Maybe Another Day

Triple H may not wrestle that much anymore, but his in-ring career certainly isn't over. We'll certainly see him back in the ring some day, and who knows? Maybe Orton will be Triple H's next opponent. WWE has ran this feud several times over the years, but the two have worked very well together. So it's safe to assume that we haven't truly seen the end of the Triple H-Orton program.
