Sasha Banks might well defend the Raw Women's Title against Asuka at SummerSlam, which probably means The Boss is going to lose.

After a couple of weeks of confusion during which Sasha Banks claimed to be the true Raw Women's Champion, The Boss made it official by beating Asuka last week. What is it with unofficial champions stealing titles and declaring themselves the true champ on the red brand right now? In Banks' defense, the wacky way in which she "won" at Extreme Rules is about the only way she can guarantee victory in a PPV title match.

No offense meant to The Boss, but her title match record on PPV is pretty abysmal. A light was shone on the record during her epic bank and forth with Charlotte Flair. The two put on some terrific matches and traded the Raw Women's Title continuously for a while. The thing is, Flair would always win it on PPV, and Banks would have to settle for winning it back on Raw.

If our calculations are correct, then Banks' record in singles title matches on PPV on WWE's main roster currently sits at four wins and ten losses. What makes it even worse is that only one of those wins came legitimately/resulted in Banks leaving with the title. That happened when The Boss made Alexa Bliss submit to the Bank Statement at SummerSlam 2017.

As for the other three victories, one came the month prior to the above-mentioned match when she managed to defeat Bliss via count-out at Great Balls Of Fire. Banks' third PPV singles title win took place more than two years later at Clash of Champions 2019. On that occasion, Banks beat Becky Lynch by disqualification, which again meant even though she was victorious, she did not leave with the title.

The fourth and final win might not actually be a win at all. The no-contest match she wrestled against Asuka last month at Extreme Rules. Bayley acted as referee unofficially, counted the pin, and the two of them left with the title. Stephanie McMahon would declare the title held-up the next day and Banks would have to wait seven more days to win it officially on Raw. With just one legitimate PPV title win to her name, the odds will be stacked against Banks should she have to defend the title against Asuka at SummerSlam.
