Sasha Banks has been on hiatus in order to ponder her WWE future, but it sounds like she'll be returning in big fashion soon enough.
According to Brad Shepard of Pro Sports Extra, The Legit Boss "is expected to return to WWE." Not only that, but there have been talks about having her win the women's Money in the Bank ladder match on May 19.
Banks hasn't appeared on WWE television since her and Bayley lost the Women's Tag Team Championships to The IIconics at WrestleMania 35. The booking decision reportedly upset Banks and Bayley, who believed they were going to hold onto the championships for a longer period.
Shepard was also able to provide more details about Banks' dissatisfaction in WWE. For starters, the former Raw Women's Champion isn't happy about splitting up from her long-time friend and tag team partner, as Bayley was moved to the SmackDown Live brand via the Superstar Shake-up.
Shepard also added that Banks and Bayley were informed that they would retain the title belts beyond the upcoming Saudi Arabia event next month - and that they would defend them there against Natalya and Beth Phoenix.
WWE didn't live up to that apparent promise, however, and it's no wonder that Banks and Bayley grew disappointed after learning that they would lose the titles. Now, it's up to WWE creative and the McMahon family to repair the damage and make up for its booking decision - if they want to convince Banks that she needs to stay.
But unless something changes, it sounds like we can expect Banks to be back in the WWE before long. With her and Bayley now split up - and Ronda Rousey on hiatus - the chance is there for Banks to finally receive another main event push.
What This Means
One would think that Banks would only return to WWE if they were willing to give her a big push, which could take place at Money in the Bank. A potential rivalry with Becky Lynch - the holder of the Raw and Women's Championships - could be the type of push to satisfy Banks. We'll see how this all plays out in the coming weeks.
