Sasha Banks returned to WWE on Monday night, attacked Natalya and fought with Becky Lynch to make a statement of epic proportions. In no uncertain terms, The Boss is back.
Natalya started the segment by coming out with her arm in a sling and talking about how hard it was to live with the fact she’d tapped out one night earlier to Becky Lynch at SummerSlam in front of her home country and Canada. She then went on to try and discuss her feelings as she was out in the ring on the one-year anniversary of her father’s death. Chants for Jim the Anvil Neidhart were about the start when a familiar song came on over the arena speakers.
After a long time away, Sasha Banks was back!
It appeared Banks was out there to console a heartbroken Natalya. She’d given her a hug and then blindsided her former friend to announce her return with a statement. Banks attacked Natalya mercilessly until Becky Lynch came to the ring in an attempt to stop the beating. Banks and Lynch got into fisticuffs and Banks got the upper hand, delivering chair shot after chair shot. Banks left the arena and left no doubt she was back and she wasn’t the same WWE Superstar that left at WrestleMania 35.
What This Means
Announcer Corey Graves made sure to talk about how selfish Banks was. That, combined with the attack demonstrated The Boss was back and she was trying to deliver a statement.
Michael Cole then said in a recap that WWE would try to get answers as to why Banks did what she did and fans are sure to hear from Banks at some point this week.
Needless to say, The Boss is back and that will make a number of fans happy, even if she's not exactly back to do anything but kick a$$ and take names.
