WWE has kept Sasha Banks off of television over the last two weeks - ever since her and Bayley dropped the Women's Tag Team Championships to The IIconics at WrestleMania 35.

Banks was reportedly upset about having to drop the titles, since her and Bayley believed they would endure a lengthy reign with the belts. They were informed at the last minute that The IIconics would win the match, and Banks reportedly tried quitting WWE when she learned the news.

WWE has since granted Banks time off as she ponders her future in WWE, as reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, but there could be another major reason why The Legit Boss is being kept off of television right now.

On PW Insider Elite Audio (h/t Ringside News), Mike Johnson explained that Banks has some heat in the locker room - which led to the decision of WWE giving her a break during a tense situation:

"There is a reason why she is so unpopular in the locker room at times. The general consensus of numerous people I have spoken to in the company was she wasn’t thrilled about her and Bayley being split up and she was even less thrilled about losing the tag titles feeling that they should have had a longer run to establish them and instead of kind of keeping it to herself and she probably made it too obvious which allowed anybody who didn’t like her or politically wasn’t a fan to use that against her. That led to her kind of taking a sabbatical."

Earlier this week, Brad Shepard of the Oh, You Didn't Know podcast reported that Banks has backstage heat with Alexa Bliss. The two had a Twitter war of words after WrestleMania 35, which led to Bliss blocking Banks. Shepard also said that the latter "has to be kept separate" from Bliss.

At any rate, Banks has a difficult decision to make regarding her future in WWE. She's been one of the company's top superstars since her call to the main roster, but WWE has kept her out of the Raw Women's Championship picture - and now her tag team partnership with Bayley is over. We'll just have to wait and see how long Banks is off television for, and if she decides to stick around.

What This Means

If Banks does end up staying in WWE, it'll be interesting to see how they plan on pushing her going forward. Losing the Tag Team Titles is a major blow for her character and momentum, and with Bayley gone, Banks is caught in the middle of nowhere. WWE is going to have to do something creative, however, if they want to keep Banks pleased and have her on board long-term. For what it's worth, she has been rumored to win the Money in the Bank pay-per-view in May.
