Sasha Banks has been on hiatus from WWE since WrestleMania 35, but the company is going great lengths to try and bring her back as soon as possible.

According to wrestling insider Brad Shepard, WWE offered The Legit Boss a multi-year contract worth seven figures. It should be noted that Banks signed a new deal with the WWE last year.

There aren't any indications yet if Banks is leaning towards taking the offer or not. She's been fairly quiet on her future in WWE since WrestleMania 35, offering few hints about where she'll end up.

WWE granted Banks a leave of absence after WrestleMania. The Legit Boss reportedly grew frustrated about her and Bayley having to drop the new Women's Tag Team Championships to The IIconics. Banks and Bayley only held the titles for 49 days, and the two were informed at the last minute that they would be losing to Peyton Royce and Billie Kay.

Banks canceled an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show and went on to post a handful of cryptic messages on social media. There were rumors that she would return at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view in May, but that never happened. Over a month later, and there haven't been any indications on when she could return to WWE - or if Banks is planning to leave.

WWE has been offering long-term contracts to their superstars, attempting to keep most of their talents in place so that they don't bolt for AEW. Jinder Mahal, Mojo Rawley and Mike and Maria Kanellis have recently signed new multi-year deals. The Revival were also offered giant contracts but have yet to sign them. We'll just have to wait and see if Banks will take WWE's offer or look for another opportunity in a different promotion.

What This Means

WWE is doing everything they can to retain one of their top female stars, but it's possible that Banks has her eyes set on another promotion. She's one of the most popular and accomplished superstars, but WWE has done a poor job booking her over the past year or two. If they want her back, WWE has to offer more than money; they simply have to give better character direction as well.
