Frankie Kazarian has issued Christopher Daniels with an ultimatum. One more loss and he is done with SCU.

Eric Bischoff has said that the key to another wrestling promotion finding success in an arena dominated by WWE is to offer something different. Trying to be better than WWE at their own game wouldn't have worked for WCW 25 years ago, so definitely won't work for AEW today. It certainly didn't work for TNA in the early 2000s. It's why Bischoff managed to take WCW past the popularity of WWE, even if it was only for 83 weeks.

It is now the job of AEW to offer up an alternative to WWE. It has failed in that regard in some ways but succeeded in others. One of the ways in which it has succeeded is its tag division. The style in which many of AEW's tag teams wrestle isn't for everyone, but that's the point.

Tony Khan has brought in a mix of styles, and also a mix of experience levels. One of the teams with the most tag experience in AEW right now is SCU. Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels have been teaming together for eight years, first wrestling under the name The Addiction in Impact Wrestling. Scorpio Sky would join their ranks years later, and the name would eventually change to SoCal Uncensored.

AEW has been gradually moving Sky away from SCU, and it now seems that the team might disappear completely. Kazarian and Daniels haven't been doing too well recently, and the former has reached a breaking point. Kazarian informed Daniels on AEW Dark this week that should the two of them lose one more match before recapturing the Tag Team Titles, he's done with SCU.

Rather than SCU losing on Dynamite tonight and the team coming to an end, this feels like the start of something special. One last run of great matches for SCU before falling at the final hurdle when they challenge The Young Bucks for the Tag Team Titles. A run that could last all the way up until 2021's Revolution. A little bit like when Ric Flair had to retire the next time he lost and wound up winning until he faced Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania.
