The Los Angeles Rams were mired in mediocrity for a decade and a half, but decision to make 30-year-old Sean McVay the next head coach has only brought great fortunes for the franchise.

Los Angeles won the NFC West division last season with an 11-5 record, landing McVay the NFL Head Coach of the Year award. The Rams have sustained their dominance with a dominant 4-0 start in 2018, thus moving McVay's total record as head coach to 15-5.

Reddit user BrawndoTTM pointed out that McVay's 15 wins already match what the 2007-2011 St. Louis Rams combined for. Yes, the franchise was really that bad over a five-year span under Scott Linehan, Jim Haslett and Steve Spagnuolo.

The Rams went 3-13 in 2007, then followed it up with woeful 2-14 and 1-15 records over the next two years. They landed the first overall pick in 2010, and used it on quarterback Sam Bradford. The Rams would go a more respectable 7-9 in Bradford's rookie season, only to go 2-14 in 2011.

Los Angeles hired Jeff Fisher for the 2012 season, but the team didn't fare that much better. They registered a trio of seven-win seasons, went 6-10 in 2014 and went 4-9 in 2016 before firing Fisher. The Rams finished that season with a 6-10 record.

McVay became the youngest head coach in NFL history when the Rams hired him, but it's brought immediate results. McVay turned 2016 first overall pick Jared Goff into a superstar last season, and the latter is enjoying an MVP-caliber year.

Furthermore, the Rams defense finally lived up to its full potential. With Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh anchoring a stout defensive line, the Rams are punishing opposing quarterbacks. The secondary has also been much better than recent years, thanks in large part to the hiring of Wade Phillips as defensive coordinator.

McVay and the Rams visit the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday, looking for an impressive 5-0 start. Once McVay picks up his next win, it'll surpass the totals that the Rams combined for from 2007 to 2011.
