Seth Rollins' Intercontinental Title defense at Money In The Bank was significant for a reason that not many people will have noticed.

Seth Rollins may have lost his Intercontinental Championship on Raw this week, but just 24 hours earlier he was on top of the world after a successful defense against Elias. The Architect may have had to resort to grabbing a handful of tights in order to get the win, but he was victorious nonetheless. That came back to bite him on Raw though when Dolph Ziggler did the same to defeat him.

Even though his title reign is now over, Rollins racked up some impressive numbers while the Intercontinental Title was in his possession. The Kingslayer may have only been champion for a little more than two months, but in that time he defended the title on a very regular basis. That included defenses on a number of different continents in a very short space of time as WWE traveled the world shortly after WrestleMania.

There was one pretty unique statistic about his final successful title defense that will have flown under the radar of most fans. The Intercontinental Title match at Money In The Bank was the first match in which the championship has been defended since Fastlane 2016 where the match hasn't featured either The Miz or Dean Ambrose in some way. That's a time period of almost two and a half years.

The fact comes courtesy of Reddit user ultimoGEARS who pointed it out via the site on Tuesday. The IC Title has switched between Raw and SmackDown Live in that time, but either The Lunatic Fringe or The Awesome One has been in the championship picture some way, somehow for all that time. More unsurprisingly with The Miz since he is now an eight-time Intercontinental Champion.

Rollins will likely not be breaking any more IC Title records any time soon. Ziggler is champion now and even though The Kingslayer will get his rematch on Raw next week, he probably won't be winning it back. On the bright side, that will hopefully mean his road to the Universal Title is about to begin, most likely in the multi-man number one contender match that's taking place at Extreme Rules.
