Seth Rollins has revealed which six NXT Superstars he can't wait to square off against if and when they arrive on the main roster.
NXT fans can be a little skeptical when it comes to their favorite Superstars moving on to the main roster. There are far too many examples of Vince McMahon simply not knowing how to use them effectively. Look no further than the likes of Bayley, Tyler Breeze, and The Ascension for a few perfect examples of that.
However, the boss doesn't get credit for the former NXT stars he has elevated to the next level. Charlotte Flair, for instance. Flair hasn't even been on the main roster for four years, yet she is already being celebrated as perhaps the greatest female wrestler of all time. Nine title reigns, a WrestleMania main event, and those are just the tip of her accomplishments.
On the male side of the coin, Seth Rollins is the next alumnus who has had the best time since his call-up. He may not have been pushed as hard as Roman Reigns, but thanks to his rapport with the fans, we would argue he has become the bigger star. The Architect hasn't forgotten about his time in NXT, though. Rollins recently told The National who he can't wait to get his hands on from NXT's current crop of stars.
Although Rollins has wrestled a lot of NXT's current stars while he was with Ring Of Honor, his first choice was a man he has never faced before. "Adam Cole is someone I have never been in the ring with," Rollins revealed about the NXT Champion. However, former champ Johnny Gargano is. "Gargano would almost be an AJ Styles situation again. We wrestled a decade ago and haven't touched each other since."
The list of Superstars was a real mix of matchups Rollins has had in the past and those he is yet to face. Matt Riddle, Velveteen Dream, Roderick Strong, and Kassius Ohno completed the list of six. The potential matchups make us hopeful for WWE's future. However, there is no way of knowing whether they'll be someone Mr. McMahon can or can't work with until they're called up.
