D-Generation X came to the aid of Seth Rollins at Raw Reunion. However, that spot was initially reserved for a different Superstar.

If Raw is celebrating a milestone of some sort, chances are D-Generation X is going to have a spot on the show. Case and point, this past Monday's Raw Reunion. With Seth Rollins looking like he was about to be on the wrong end of a three-on-one beatdown, Triple H and Shawn Michaels came to The Architect's aid.

A fair three-on-three fight wasn't enough for the OGs of DX. That's when various other members, plus Kevin Nash and Scott Hall joined them in the ring. With that, AJ Styles and co smartly decided to take their leave. What's odd about all this is why WWE decided to have Rollins take on Styles. A main event anywhere in the world for seemingly no reason at all.

X-Pac, aka Sean Waltman, and Hall were on hand during this week's X-Pac 12360 to explain what happened. Waltman revealed that the spot Rollins was fortunate to find himself in on Monday night was originally meant for Ricochet. "Yeah, you bunch of haters, it was gonna be Ricochet and we were trying to elevate him!" Waltman joked. Ricochet was unable to appear due to being ruled out with an elbow infection.

On top of that, Waltman and Scott both admitted they didn't want the segment to go down the way it did. Apparently, all of the legends involved brought up the fact that they would basically be burying The OC but "it was addressed and it was overruled." In all fairness, due to the number of babyfaces that wound up in the ring, it makes sense that Styles, Gallows, and Anderson wouldn't want things to get physical.

Wrestlers' careers seem to be taking unexpected turns a lot more often nowadays, especially in WWE. Hopefully, Ricochet's elbow issue isn't something that will keep him on the bench for long. Plus, although he is likely incredibly frustrated at missing out on becoming an honorary member of DX, fingers crossed that's the only way in which this injury affects his career negatively.
