The biggest storyline in WWE might be the Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch relationship. Rollins said it took time to feel good about airing it. While they hadn't been hiding things, they weren't jumping to make it public either.

When WWE presented both Rollins and Lynch with the idea of using their offscreen relationship as the basis for an onscreen storyline, they had their reservations. During an interview with Sports Illustrated Media, Rollins said after working out the kinks, the two eventually felt comfortable with having it appear on television.

"When you're first approached about the idea, you're kind of like, "How is it going to work? Is it going to work?'" Rollins said. He added, "I've never done anything like that before and I don't think she has either as far as I know. If you look at the way couples have been portrayed in the past, it's a bit sketchy, especially on the woman's end."

They wanted to make sure that if they were going to show Lynch and Rollins together, the immediate assumption wasn't that Lynch would always need "saving" or making her character look weak. In fact, these concerns are why the storyline was likely written that Lynch came out and saved Rollins from a Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans attack.

Both Rollins and Lynch also agreed that they needed to cover this while the topic was hot. Doing so in a year from now wasn't going to have the same impact.

What This Means

Rollins revealed the two had been together since February and they weren't exactly hiding the fact they were dating. But, it took until April to officially tell the world they were together and much later than that to be seen on WWE programming as a couple.

"We did what we did and eventually, she put the thing on Twitter when she was arguing with Beth and Edge," he said. Once that cat was out of the bag, everyone got more comfortable.

It seems like both are happy they moved forward and for now, they're the central angle on Raw each Monday night and headlining Extreme Rules in a tag match.
